The first Disease Supplement of the Vegetable Crop Update is now available. This supplement provides an update on late blight forecasting. We have had no late blight detections in Wisconsin that I am aware of at this time. However, many questions have come in as to the level of current and upcoming risk. As such, I wanted to offer updated DSV and PDay values as well as a look at forecasted DSVs for Wisconsin.
As a reminder, the UWEX Plant Disease Diagnostic Clinic and my potato and vegetable research/extension program is again offering free late blight diagnostics for tomato and potato samples. This is a community plant disease that takes vigilance by all growers of susceptible crops for effective statewide management.
